Help Us Grant a Foster Child’s Christmas Wishes

unc-logo468_happyholHello fellow Carolina alumni,

This is the season of giving, and our local Tar Heels have a great opportunity to give back to our community and support children during the holidays.

UNC Black Alumni Club of Charlotte is collaborating with the local chapter of the NFL Players Association to support foster children of Elon Homes & Schools for Children www.elonhomes.org  and grant their gift wishes for the holidays. The organization’s foster care program provides refuge for children who need a safe place to live when parents cannot adequately care for them. The program serves children ages 0-20.  The NFLPA Charlotte chapter has a list of children who need gifts for the holidays and other nonprofits are joining in the effort.  UNC Black Alumni of Charlotte has committed to providing gifts for 20 children.  Elon Homes is the chosen charity of support for NFLPA Charlotte.

If you are interested in sponsoring a child, please email Veronica Clemons at veronicaclemons@att.net to obtain a name.  Each child has three gift wishes. If you are able to fulfill all 3 that is great and know that you can partner with fellow alumni or others who wish to help these children during this special time of year.  We want to make all of them as happy as possible. You can also get gift ideas from the hobbies they list as well.

All gifts are due on Sunday, Dec. 6 and we will have a drop-off location on that day.  The Tar Heels take on Davidson on the 6th  so we may have a game watch location. Gifts will be given to the children during the Elon Homes holiday party on Dec. 12

Thank you so much for your support and let me know if you have questions.
